Here you find all four- or more wheel-drive vehicles, as long as they are fun to drive away from asphalt and hard shoulders, completely off-road and across the most inhospitable terrains. During comparative off-road tests all 4x4s must show in practice if they are up to the job, have a convincing ride, are well-made, deliver on performance and most of all are fun to drive.

    This time, the all-wheel program 4x4 will show you the highlights from the legendary Rally Breslau Poland 2014. The 150 participants are audacious, brave and a little crazy, too - but they do their best to get to the finish line on motorcycles, quads, or in all-wheel all-terrain vehicles. Asphalt? Unfortunately not! The almost 769 mile-long route even takes the teams through rapid rivers and over tree trunk-barricades.

  • Steinbeisser Trophy

    Tough, Tougher, Steinbeisser. The Steinbeisser Trophy is the toughest off-road race in Europe and only for tough guys with off-road experience. 'Only the strong survive' is the motto of the 16th edition. About 50 teams drive around the 8-hectare Off-Road Park Langenaltheim near Nuremberg in Germany as quickly and accident-free as possible. Team 'Bader' wants to win the Steinbeisser with their top-class prototype 'Black Widow!' Will they emerge victorious after two days full of struggles, mud and thrill?

    It doesn't have to be an all-terrain vehicle all the time. All-wheel drive makes sense in other models, too. All-wheel sedans give you space, comfort and driving safety. The Audi A4, the successor to the Audi 80, has been built since 1994. The typical bread-and-butter car from the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer is still popular. In the fall of 2015 the fifth generation, internally called the B9, arrives in stores. At first sight it doesn't look that good, but under its hood it's equipped with innovative technology.   • Amarok Adventure Tour through Africa

    Stunning landscapes, wild animals and pure off-road feeling: that's the Amarok Adventure Tour. Expedition leader Matthias Göttenauer has already been in more than 100 countries and has been planning events on the topic of 4x4 for more than ten years. His tour through the black continent is a very special journey. For a total of three weeks 2.5 tons of four wheel drive vehicles fight their way through South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The first three-day leg takes them through the Kalahari Desert, which covers more than a million square kilometers and reaches temperatures of up to 40 degrees.

    The Japanese car manufacturer Mazda upgraded its compact model Mazda 3. The result is the CX-3. The small SUV has an appealing design, efficient engines and all-wheel drive.     3,615 kilometers, 21 days and thousands of liters of diesel. Right in the middle of it are 19 examples of the Land Rover Discovery Sport, one crew and six inexperienced Germans who take on the Australian outback. Their trail leads them from Nhulunbuy in the Northern Territory to the Gregory National Park and finally the Ayers Rock. Cut tires and trapped cars are high on the daily agenda.

    In the 1950s the Volkswagen Transporter, affectionately called 'Bulli' by its fans, was a symbol for the German economic miracle. In the 70s the model was cult amongst hippies. In the year 2016 the Bulli is available in its sixth generation. The Volkswagen Transporter is a legend. The California, a motor home based on the Multivan, is legendary, too.     This commercial vehicle is not only popular with craftsmen. Families trust this all-rounder as well. The Volkswagen Caddy is versatile and robust.     The World Rallycross Championship is a crowd-puller. When famous drivers like Ken Block, Petter Solberg or Sebastien Loeb fight for the victory, everybody wants to be present.     Three days of adrenaline and drifting action ' the Monza Rally Show is a top-class event. The event has been staged on the legendary Formula One course since 1978. They have to complete nine special stages. The fastest and most skillful driver will emerge victorious in the end.     Every year a vintage car show is held in Paaren / Glien near Berlin in Germany. About 45,000 viewers use the opportunity to gaze at more than 5000 automobile treasures. Besides muscle cars, hot rods and bikes, one can also find a lot of all-wheel pickups and utility vehicles. Frank Slopianka of Special Cars Berlin knows vintage cars by heart. His company specializes in the sale of all-wheel classic cars. Pickups and vintage off-roaders are in great demand and Frank offers some of them as well, like a 1974 Dodge W200 for example.
