The Ferrari Challenge Europe on MOTORVISION TV

Ferrari Challenge Europe

Ferrari officially founded the Ferrari Challenge in 1993. It is an official GT- Championship in accordance with FIA regulations. Its idea: To experience races on the most beautiful race tracks of Europe in a unique car brand, at eye level with other Ferrari drivers. At the beginning only teams in a Ferrari 348 were permitted to take part. As more Ferrari models were launched, the F355, the 360, the F430 and the 458 followed. 4 different classes are staged: the Trofeo Pirelli, the Coppa Giovani, the Trofeo Pirelli – Coppa Shell und the Coppa Gentlemen. Additionally there is a team championship called Coppa Team. In the Coppa Shell only teams of two drivers can take part, which must be over 50 or substitute drivers. The Team Cup is driven by drivers who work for Ferrari dealerships or garages. The Coppa Gentlemen is exclusively for amateur racing drivers over 55. Currently (since 2001) these races are only driven with Ferrari 458. The races go over 30 minutes. The Ferrari Challenge Europe has the following numbering system: 1-99 for the Trofeo Pirelli, 101-199 for Coppa Shell.

The Ferrari Challenge is probably the brand championship with the most powerful cars and races take place not only in Italy and Europe but now also in North America and in the Asia-Pacific region. For the world final, at the end of each season, drivers from all continents gather. One race of the Ferrari Challenge Europe is staged just before the 24-hours of Le Mans.
