MOTORVISION TV Launches on New Platforms in 14 Countries
MOTORVISION Group turbocharges its international expansion and launches its car and motorsports channel and signed new distribution deals in 14 European countries.
The MOTORVISION Group strategically drives forward its expansion with the launch of its TV offerings on new platforms in 14 countries across Europe. Having recently signed agreements in the Nordics, Benelux, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Gibraltar and on the Balkan, the car and motorsports channel is now broadcast in more than 100 countries around the world – including Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Gibraltar and Belgium, where MOTORVISION TV is now available for the very first time.
The Munich-based company signed an agreement with Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor to bring the MOTORVISION TV channel to its Canal Digital platform. The market-leading TV and streaming operator was founded in 1997 and reaches more than 800,000 customers across Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway. MOTORVISION TV is available in HD and is distributed in the DTH networks, currently known as Family package in all four countries as well as in the basic package in Finland. Also MOTORVISION TV is available in Telenor Sweden’s CATV/IPTV network and can be seen as part of the TV Flex and TV Stor packages.
Swedish petrol heads that receive their television signal via cable TV provider Sappa can now also see MOTORVISION TV programming for the first time. The car and motoring channel launches on the platform and can be watched in Sappas TV-packages Sappa Much, Sappa Most, Sappa Five, Sappa Ten and Sappa Sports.
Car and motorsports enthusiasts in Denmark can watch MOTORVISION TV through YouSee. Launched in 1995, the cable and IPTV operator is a subsidiary of TDC Group, the leading telecommunications company in the country, and reaches more than 1.2 million households. YouSee will distribute MOTORVISION TV as part of its a la carte and flex packages.
In Finland, MOTORVISION TV welcomes Elisa as its third distribution partner in the country. Founded in 1882, Elisa now has more than 2.8 million customers and is a market leader in its country. It offers MOTORVISION TV as part of Elisa Viihde’s OTT platform, where subscribers can pick the car and motoring channel as a mix channel for the S-Mix, M-Mix and L-Mix packages or as an extra channel to those packs.
In addition to providing MOTORVISION TV on its own network, Elisa will also deliver channel to other CATV and IPTV platforms including its own sub-networks and its cooperating partners.
In Austria, MOTORVISION TV can now also be watched on Liwest, the biggest cable operator in Upper Austria and the second biggest operator in the country. It serves 226,000 households and distributes the car and motorsports channel as part of its sports package.
MOTORVISION TV has also reached a distribution agreement with Proximus. Belgium’s largest telecommunications company offers the channel as part of its IPTV service, which is already used by more than 1.5 million customers. In order to watch the cars and motorsports programming, Proximus TV customers need to subscribe to its pay tv package.
In the Netherlands, MOTORVISION TV expands its reach by broadcasting on Breedband Helmond as part of the Standaard package. Breedband Helmond is a subsidary of e-Quest, an innovative and dynamic ICT service provider in the Dutch municipality of Helmond. MOTORVISION TV also launching on New Web Services and continues to be available on Youfone TV.
MOTORVISION Group also signed a new deal with Teleclub, one of Europe’s longest established pay tv providers, to bring its French-speaking feed to the Romandy for the very first time. The channel is available as part of the Teleclub Sports Bouquet, which includes 22 sports channels. Meanwhile, the German-speaking version of MOTORVISION TV continues to broadcast on MySports by UPC Switzerland and the Sky Sport OTT offering in Switzerland.
The car and motorsports channel also improves its reach in the Balkan region by introducing a new deal with The United Group to bring MOTORVISION TV to the SBB and Telemach systems in the Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. SBB and Telemach are the leading cable TV and broadband internet service providers in their region and will broadcast MOTORVISION TV on their D3, EON and D3i systems.
On the grounds of a new distribution agreement with telecommunications company Euskaltel, MOTORVISION TV can now be seen in Spain for the very first time. Founded in 1995, Euskaltel is the leading convergent telecommunications group in Northern Spain and brings MOTORVISION TV to its 800,000 customers in in the Basque Country, Galicia and Asturias.
MOTORVISION TV also partners with Gibtelecom to bring MOTORVISION TV to Gibraltar for the very first time. Founded in 2001, Gibtelecom is the largest telecommuncations provider in the British Overseas Territory and distributes MOTORVISION TV as part of its Sofi service.
